About Antoine

Through my adventures, I aim to open a window onto the wild world, accessible to everyone. As a keen wildlife photographer, I’ll take you with me to discover the beauty of the animals that inhabit our mountains.

Getting to know Antoine

My secret spot

Yes, of course, but it’s a well-kept secret.

My calling

Both! After studying urban planning and spending several years working in education and public consultation on urban and architectural issues, the desire to extend that experience to a mountain environment was a fairly natural progression. I grew up in the Basque mountains at the foot of the Pyrenees, surrounded by local myths, the circling vultures, the return of the bearded vulture, the bear, and on the other side of the range in the Alps, the return of the wolf in the late 1990s.

My ideal companion

Nature lovers, photography enthusiasts or beginners, and anyone who wants to switch off from the world below to reconnect with the world above.

What drives me

Spontaneous encounters shake us to the core and then take root within us. After that, it’s impossible to do anything else...

Coffee at the refuge or a bivouac?

A wild campsite where you come across more wild animals than people. And yes, it’s still possible, even in France!

Sunrise or sunset?

With wildlife photography, both are on the agenda!

What makes my terrain unique

The mountains are beautiful everywhere. You just need to know where to look and how to look.

My proudest moment

To be able to share the sense of wonder I feel in the mountains when faced with scenes of wildlife, incredible light and magnificent landscapes. But also to convey the fragility of the mountain environment and how to enjoy it whilst respecting it.

The adventure that started it all

I found myself helping out on a fairly technical hike in the Sainte-Victoire mountains. Reassuring people, guiding them, setting up a rope… After several months of dithering about it, something just clicked. Three years later, I obtained my State Diploma.
