As you follow the trails, the daily hikes awaken your inner energy, whilst at mealtimes, a naturopath or preventive nutritionist transforms local and/or organic produce into balanced, delicious and rejuvenating menus. Homemade dishes, as generous as the landscape around you. Here, exertion becomes lightness, and each plate a promise of vitality. The harmony between nature, movement and food takes on its full meaning – a veritable bath of pure energy. And as the silence of the peaks whispers in your ear, you might just catch sight of an ibex watching you pass by, a discreet witness to this getaway that is both gentle and powerful. ITINERARY
- Day 1: Meet at Prélenfrey around 9.00 am (timing to be adjusted according to your mode of transport). After getting to know one another and sharing a welcome snack, we’ll set off on our first hike (elevation gain/loss 810m, distance 12.5 km), to warm up. We’ll join the perimeter trail via the Baraque des Clots, then climb the Pas de l’Oeille to reach the ridge of the Balcon Est. We’ll then head north towards the Col Vert to go round the Gerbier and return to our starting point. This route runs alongside the majestic rock faces of the Balcon Est in the Vercors, through a landscape of alpine pastures and rocky terrain. We’ll then head to our accommodation, where we’ll settle in for the next three nights. Once settled in, we’ll meet up for a briefing on the trip.
- Day 2: Hike from Gresse-en-Vercors on a circular route (elevation gain/loss 1,100 m, distance 15 km) which will take us via the Pas de Berrièves and the Pas de la Ville, and the ridges separating them. This ridge walk offers breathtaking panoramic views of the peaks of the Vercors’ Eastern Balcony, the Hauts Plateaux and the Dévoluy.
- Day 3: A hike from the village on a circular route (elevation gain/loss 1,300 m, distance 17 km) that takes us along the ridges of the Eastern Balcon, passing through the Pas Morta and the Pas de la Balme. On this long day’s walk, the ridges of the Balcon Est unfold before us with a succession of rocky faces to the north and south.
- Day 4: Hike from St Michel-les-Portes on a circular route (elevation gain/loss 935 m, distance 13 km) taking us across the Vercors High Plateaus via two mountain passes. Our route for the day takes us close to the Grand Veymont and Mont Aiguille. We’ll part ways after returning to the car park.
