I’ll guide you through this descent, taking our time. The aim isn’t to go fast, but to have fun, discover canyoning, stay safe and enjoy the natural surroundings. After a short approach walk (15 minutes), we’ll soon be entering the canyon. The Lower Furon is carved out of limestone, with a mix of narrow passages, waterfalls and pools of clear water. Throughout the descent, you’ll be making your way along the riverbed. We’ll alternate between walking, wading through the water and swimming in the pools. I’ll explain how to move efficiently, how to use the current and how to navigate obstacles. The route includes several abseils, up to around 20 metres. Some take place directly beneath waterfalls. This is your chance to learn the basics of abseiling, with simple explanations to help you gradually feel at ease. You’ll also encounter jumps of varying heights. These are never compulsory. Each time, I’ll suggest an alternative and support you so you can make your choice with confidence. There are also a few natural slides and fun sections, always supervised. The canyon remains active, with flowing water, but without excessive difficulty. I also take the time to tell you about the environment: how the gorge was formed, water flow, and the local ecosystem. The idea is not just to enjoy the activity, but also to gain a better understanding of the environment we’re exploring. Groups are limited to a maximum of 8 people. This helps to reduce waiting times, allows me to provide better individual support and ensures the tour runs smoothly. If there are more of you, I’ll bring in another guide to ensure the experience remains enjoyable for everyone. The tour lasts around 2½ to 3 hours, at a pace suited to the group.
